Drones are an essential tool for companies, the military and emergency responders. WaveAerospace located in Stratford is the maker of commercial, high performance, unmanned aerial vehicles or drones.
The company was co-founded by aerospace engineer Steve Bofill, and pilot and entrepreneur Mark Strauss. It was started 7 years ago and was part of Connecticut’s Technology Incubator Program.
Today WaveAerospace has a portfolio of drones including object recognition drones and carrying drones which bring goods from one point to another.

Intrigued, we entered the hangar they call home, greeted by Co-Founder Steven Bofill and Dana Eidsness Vice President International & US Relations, surrounded by state-of-the-art high-performance drones and a dedicated team of engineers.
WaveAerospace will present their Falcon II Uncrewed Aerial System at this year’s International Drone Show on 29 May at HCA Airport.
WaveAerospace is a Connecticut, USA-based aircraft manufacturer, building solutions for missions in the most operationally complex and demanding environments. With a payload of 110 pounds, the hybrid-electric Huntress is expected to have a flight endurance of two hours. According to Wave, it will be able to be launched not only from the ground, but also from a ship or larger aircraft, and operate in wind conditions higher than 60 mph.
