“Spotted in the halls was this unique jet-powered X-wing VTOL UAV from US-based Wave Aerospace which can fly in Force 10 storms and extreme weather that would ground other UAVS and piloted aircraft. The X-6A Huntress II features a central jet engine and electric propulsor on the wingtips to give fine control. With a top speed of Mach .3, a payload of 50kg and an endurance of 120mins, Wave are aiming the X-6A at ISR, tactical logistics, communications – and airspace denial – using a drone to intercept and identify other intruders.”
